ABOUT
All Our Garden Rooms are
We are delighted to offer a beautiful and rich composite cladding to our range of finishes. Available in a rich brown (teak) and grey, in addition to great aesthetics, they are low on maintenance.
Depending on where you plan to put your Garden Room, or how you want it to look in your garden, you have the option to have a left or right orientation to ensure it nestles in well.
The high-quality laminate with commercial grade wear resistance is based on the grain and look of oak. Flooring options include a grey and a light or dark oak.
Explore your preference for colour. With 3 colour finishes available in the recessed area and two colours of windows and door, you have plenty of choice. The colours available in the recessed area are a subtle black (RAL 9004), stone grey (RAL 7030) and a natural stained larch effect. The window colours are as below; signal black (RAL 9004) and stone grey (RAL 7030).
nUTS & BOLTS
In-situ poured concrete pads (foundation holes are dug and concrete is poured to levels) and galvanised steel beams. The galvanised steel beams provide structural support (giving a solid feel underfoot) and a damp-proof medium.
Using timber-frame as the structural element (all certified and kiln-dried) the walls have 10 layers to provide the optimum in terms of look, weathering, longevity and warmth.
The most important function of a roof is to provide trouble-free weathering. Consequently, we have chosen a fibreglass material which is what we use on our extensions and have used on almost a thousand roofs in the past 12 years.
A combination of insulating materials to achieve the optimal performance. On the ceilings and floors rigid EPS to avoid adverse effects of weather during installation. Rigid insulations have a higher U value (U value measures heat transfer and loss) but the critical issue is how well it is fitted. That is why we fit the insulation in factory-controlled conditions.
On the walls we use a combination of high- quality quilt material (non-slumping) and a continuous layer of rigid insulation on the inside skin. The quilt material is protected by a layer of visqueen plastic with cloth tape and the combination of these materials means the studio will heat quickly and hold
We have options for external cladding, each of which is chosen to optimise the functionality and aesthetics of your Shomera. We want it to look great and last a long time. As a result, we give careful consideration to the fixing details to ensure longevity for Irish conditions, management of staining and requiring less maintenance. Where a Shomera is going against a boundary, we have recommended cladding detail that will not deteriorate and will not require maintenance where it cannot be accessed. The use of concealed stainless fixings further reduces the deterioration of the cladding and the degree of maintenance required.
Don’t worry. You aren’t the first to ask. Have a look at our most commonly received questions. For anything that isn’t covered, we are only ever a phone call away.
You get a 10 year structural guarantee. All electrical and plumbing work is completed by fully registered tradesmen. In addition, manufacturers’ guarantees for windows, roofing, flooring, etc. are also given.
The vast majority of studios we install are exempted from planning under Class 3 of the General Exempted Development provisions of the planning regulations. The size limit for no planning is 25 square metres (268 square feet). There are some other conditions which we can go through with you in greater detail once we have surveyed your property.
Comprehensive drawings and quotations reduce the risk of running over-budget. It is also important to exercise restraint on finishes when the budget is tight.

The windows and doors are double-glazed uPVC, with the advantage of being made from a naturally insulating material. The double glazed units come with tempered glass as required and the double glazed vacuum is filled with Argon gas. The window frames are 90mm and passive house standard. Windows and doors are available in Dark Grey (Slate Grey, RAL 7015) or Light Grey (Silver Grey, RAL 7001).
